The project - known as the Young Person’s Library - provides free access to carefully selected books and resources designed to help young people understand and cope with illness, loss and bereavement.

Its recent facelift is designed to make it more visible as a resource with a new cabinet for display and storage.

The library offers a range of books that address difficult topics with sensitivity and clarity, using age-appropriate language and engaging activities to encourage emotional expression.

This vital resource aims to provide comfort and support to families facing challenging times, helping young people navigate their feelings and experiences.

In addition to the books, the project includes a dedicated young people’s book area, thoughtfully furnished with items chosen by healthcare chaplain Duncan Vickers and senior charge nurse Fiona Weir.
