Tartan trek raises funds for the Friends

A generous couple stepped up with a tartan-hued donation from the Kiltwalk.

Stevie and Kayleigh Tawse completed the 26 mile fundraising hike and raised £820 in sponsorship.

They took part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk for Roxburghe House on behalf on Kayleigh’s dad. At the time, he was in and out of Roxburghe House and was very grateful for the care and compassion he received.

Kiltwalkers can raise funds for any charity of their choice and Stevie and Kayleigh chose Friends of Roxburghe House Grampian as their way of giving back to Roxburghe House.

In addition, and thanks to the generosity of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation, funds raised are topped up by 50% which boosted their donation to an amazing £1,230.

Stevie, 33, is an IT systems engineer and his wife, 30-year-old Kayleigh, is the owner and stylist at Hendrix Hair. They weren’t alone in completing their marathon trek as they were accompanied by Kayleigh’s parents’ dog Bob, who even sported his own t-shirt tribute.

Kiltwalks are mass participation walking events that raise much-needed funds for Scottish charities and projects.

In six years, 112,300 Kiltwalkers have raised £22.5million and The Hunter Foundation has added £11.4million, a total of £33.9 million for 3,000 Scottish charities.

We are incredibly grateful to Stevie and Kayleigh – and Bob – for choosing to raise funds for us and pass on our thanks to them, and everyone who sponsored their magnificent Kiltwalk efforts.
