Supporting Friends at Christmas time

As the festive season approaches, there are wonderful ways to mark the occasion while supporting the specialist palliative care provided at Roxburghe House.

Join us for our annual carol service

One of the most cherished highlights of our calendar is the annual Christmas service with carols.

This year, the service will once again be led by Roxburghe House chaplain Duncan Vickers on Monday 7 December at Fountainhall Church at the Stocket, located on Harcourt Road in Aberdeen.

Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, and all are welcome to attend this free, uplifting event. It offers a wonderful, stress-free way to pause, reflect and remember the Christmas message surrounded by the local community.

Afterward, everyone is invited to stay for tea, coffee, and biscuits. To help us with seating arrangements, please let us know you are joining by emailing support@friendsofroxburghehouse.co.uk.

Share festive cheer with our Christmas cards

You can also support the charity from home by purchasing your Christmas cards to support Friends of Roxburghe House. Getting organised early means you can send beautiful seasonal wishes to your loved ones while directly contributing to patient care and comfort.

Packs of 10 cards are available for just £3.50. You can pick them up directly from the coffee bar at Roxburghe House or contact support@friendsofroxburghehouse.co.uk with any queries.

Or why not catch us at the Christmas fair at the Fountainhall Church Centre on 14 November between 10am and 12noon?

If you favour a charity donation over sending cards, why not choose Roxburghe House? You can donate money online here.

Bringing magic to the day unit

Funds raised through your generosity also go directly toward spreading festive cheer inside the Roxburghe House.

Friends fund the annual day unit Christmas party, making sure patients enjoy a wonderful three-course lunch with all the trimmings, live music and their own Christmas gift. The event often features special visitors, including Father Christmas and his helpful elf.

Every card purchased and every voice raised in song at our carol service helps the Friends continue providing vital support, extra services and comfort to patients and their families when they need it most.

We look forward to celebrating the season with you.
