Act of Kindness in Run for George

A personal trainer is organising a public 5k walk and run at Hazlehead Park in memory of her father-in-law, George Kindness.

The “Run for George” is being held on Saturday 3 June at 10am and organiser Livia Kindness says everyone is welcome to take part.

“We lost my beloved father-in-law George Kindness to cancer earlier this year. Thanks to the amazing staff at Roxburghe House, his wife Kate and sons Chris and Ali (my husband) got to spend the last moments together,” said 34-year-old Livia, who is the general manager at Puregym Shiprow as well as a personal trainer.

There is an existing link as George’s widow Kate worked as a psychologist at Roxburghe House in previous years.

“When we hear about cancer, we often learn about amazing recoveries, struggles and the fight against this horrible disease.

“I want to raise awareness of all those heroes who are there for you and your family when the patient does not win the fight.

“There are no words for the kindness and care we received at that very difficult time.”

“Please join us for a 5k run or walk - whatever is more appropriate for you - in Hazlehead Park to help raise funds. It’s £10 to take part – and a good healthy activity in support of a brilliant cause.”
