Mike’s Hairy Walkers take it in their Mighty Stride

Three “Hairy Walkers” have their feet up today after completing the Aberdeen Kiltwalk’s Mighty Stride in memory of Mike Davidson.

Mike’s Hairy Walkers – his sister Angie, and niece and nephew Carla and Ben – walked 18 miles yesterday (Sun) from Duthie Park in Aberdeen to Bellfield Park, Banchory.

As Mike was so passionate about his Harley Davidson and loved the Hairy Bikers, the trio thought it was a fitting name. He’d lived in Banchory and had been a chef in the RAF.

The trio said: “Mike was one of life’s good ones, eternally kind and thoughtful, and his biggest passions in life were his Harley Davidson and his family.

“He passed away in April, following a short battle with oesophageal cancer. We are so incredible proud of the fight he put up to stay with us, and be forever grateful for every moment we had with him.

“In the last 12 days of Mike’s life, he and our family were blown away by the care and attention provided by Roxburghe House. Any sponsorship or donations to this walk in Mike’s name will go to this wonderful cause, Friends of Roxburghe House Grampian, so more families can be fortunate enough to receive their support in their darkest days.”
