The show – being performed at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen between Wed 28 Jun and Sat 1 July – includes a collection for Friends, as well as some hair-raising fundraising beforehand.
The musical theatre society is based in the city and celebrated its 70th anniversary last year. But it says it’s certainly not slowing down yet. Made up of around 80 active members, more than 40 of these will be taking to the stage in what promises to be a tremendous show.
Chairman Kyle Yeats said: “The Lyric always wants to bring exciting and vibrant shows that our loyal local audiences will enjoy.
“This is definitely one of those, and we're sure the audience will come out of the theatre with their toes tapping and humming the songs.”
Mostly inspired by true events, the musical tells the story of Charlie Price who inherited a shoe factory from his father and forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots to save the business.
