Family takes on one of dad’s favourite events in his memory

Taking a Mighty Stride at the Kiltwalk next month in memory of a beloved family member is the Inglis family.

Rob Inglis passed away in March after a brief illness and his wife Debbie, daughter Rebecca, son Curtis, son-in-law Mikey and Curtis's partner Phoebe are aiming to complete the 18-mile from Aberdeen to Banchory, fundraising for Friends on the way. And they’ve already raised more than £5,000, far surpassing their initial expectations.

The Inglis family explained the reason behind the choice of event and cause.

“Rob had taken part in the Kiltwalk many times over the years and loved it so we felt it was a fitting tribute to him,” they said.

“As a family, we feel that it is important to give back to Roxburghe House and to the staff as the work that they do is so crucial. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us all during Rob's illness.

“Roxburghe House is an amazing facility that provides support and comfort for both in-patients and out-patients. They provided outstanding help to both Rob and our family during this difficult time.”

Rob was born in Aberdeen and worked in the oil & gas industry, travelling across the world. He passed away earlier in the year after a brief illness, during which he spent time at Roxburghe House.
