Lisa McIntosh and her 10-year-old son Jai are raising money for Friends of Roxburghe House Grampian in memory of “Grama Nosh”, Lisa’s grandmother Ellen Adam (pictured with Jai).

They are taking part in the Cancer Research UK Aberdeen 5k on Sunday 2 July along the beach esplanade.

The unusual name came from Ellen’s husband Norman being known as “Nosh”. As the family found names for all the different grandparents, Norman was known as “Granda Nosh” and Ellen became “Grama Nosh”.

“Grama made us promise we would do the race for life so here we are, me and Jai will be doing the Race for Life in July,” said Lisa, who is a secretary at Woodend Hospital.
