Two big-hearted youngsters are carrying on their festive fundraising activities with hot chocolate reindeer cones.
Sisters Erin and Holly Robertson have raised thousands for charity through their efforts, in memory of their mum who was a patient at Roxburghe House.
Last year, helped by their dad Ewan, they raised over £1,200 for Friends of Roxburghe House selling the Christmas-themed treats.
The decorated cones contain everything needed to create a warming mug of hot chocolate.
Their popularity meant the pair repeated their venture this year, raising over £1,000 for Friends of Anchor, which helps cancer and haematology patients from Aberdeenshire, Orkney and Shetland at the ANCHOR unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Their mum Claire died of kidney cancer in 2020 aged 43, having raised thousands for charity herself while fighting the disease.
Erin, 11, and seven-year-old Holly initially had the idea to say thank you to the medical staff, artists, writer and volunteers who helped and took care of their mum.
The pair’s dad Ewan said: “Claire was so impressed by the quality of the care she received at NHS Grampian and, later on, at Roxburghe House, and she took part in a variety of different charity events even though she was ill for the previous five and a half years.
“We know that she would be very proud of her daughters’ kind-spirited efforts.
“Both Friends charities are very close to our family’s heart.”
