Artroom: supporting individual creativity

Artroom offers an environment that supports individual creativity. Everyone is creative and this initiative gives participants the opportunity to be themselves and express that self. The sessions are tailored for individual needs and interests and can be through art or writing. They take place in either a shared studio environment or one-to-one, and participants are supported to find their own style and work at their own pace.

The Roxburghe House Artroom was started in 2007 by Grampian Hospitals Art Trust GHAT - read more who continue to manage the project. It is co-funded by the Friends - who fund the writer-in-residence and half the cost of the artists who work with all the patients - and the NHS Grampian Endowment Fund nhsgcharities.com.

The project is managed by the Grampian Hospitals Art Trust. Over time, Artroom has become an integral part of life at Roxburghe House. Patient artworks and creative writing are now visible around the unit, enriching the environment for everyone.
