The inspiration for this fundraising event stemmed from a pact made between Angie and her friend Coreen McIntosh. Both women were facing health challenges, and they resolved to walk a mile together to express their gratitude for the palliative care provided by Roxburghe House and the therapeutic activities offered by Veterans Tribe Scotland.

Sadly, Coreen passed away in November last year aged just 51 before they could undertake the walk together.

Undeterred, Angie, a veteran who has recently regained mobility after being in a wheelchair, decided to honour Coreen's memory by going ahead with the challenge.
