This vibrant and dedicated group - known as Scotland's first American Square Dance Club - presented the generous cheque following a year of impressive fundraising efforts.

And last Monday, three committee members from the Friends of Roxburghe House Grampian – Anne Brown, Fiona Leslie and Ryan Fox – were delighted to join the Aberdeen Kilt Kickers for a special dance evening at the WRI Hall in Kirk Brae, Cults, to celebrate their wonderful achievement and receive the donation.

The Aberdeen Kilt Kickers, who meet twice a week at the WRI Hall in Cults, have a strong tradition of community involvement alongside their passion for American Square Dancing.

Over the past year, their 25 members diligently raised funds through a variety of creative activities, including lucky number draws, crafting and selling delicious homemade toffee and tablet, organising raffles and even producing and selling marmalade and Easter bunnies.

The club's caller Derek and his wife also contribute significantly by hosting a Christmas Village display each year, inviting friends for a cuppa and a chat in exchange for donations.
