JUNE 2013

Queen's Award for Voluntary Services
In June 2013, the Cabinet Office announced that we had been awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services for "Supporting the palliative care unit in the creation of an environment of compassion to improve the quality of life for patients and families."
Kate Nicolson, Chairman of the Friends said: "This is a great honour for the Friends of Roxburghe House, equivalent to receiving an MBE, and is due entirely to the dedication of the staff and volunteers in supporting the palliative care delivered at Roxburghe House and the creation of an environment of compassion aimed at improving the lives of the patients, their families and the staff who work at Roxburghe House. We are very proud of this recognition."
